Zé Ibarra

Zé Ibarra takes flight as a solo artist with his second album, AFIM. The record explores soundscapes that blend MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), jazz and pop, revealing a more intense and visceral side of his artistry. Currently touring Brazil and set to perform in Europe in 2026, he moves away from the intimate acoustic guitar guided-sound to explore a darker and more visually striking musicality, where each note unfolds like a moving painting.

Marquês, 256, Ibarra’s debut album, marked a new chapter in the singer and songwriter’s career, consolidating his unique artistic identity. With a sound that combines classic influences from Brazilian music with new experiments, it was enthusiastically received by audiences and critics alike. His solo debut gained momentum throughout 2022 with shows in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), New York (USA), and São Paulo (SP).

A multi-artist and instrumentalist, Zé Ibarra is also a music producer, skilled on both guitar and piano. Discovered in 2014 as the vocalist, composer, and pianist of the Rio de Janeiro band Dônica, he won the 27th Prêmio da Música Brasileira, paving the way for unforgettable collaborations. He quickly stood out within the group, showcasing not only his distinctive voice but also his mastery of falsetto.

The singer traces his path in music as one who embroiders melodies through time. His voice has resonated alongside Milton Nascimento, during the farewell tour Última Sessão de Música, and intertwined with great names of MPB. In 2022, he brought to life Bala Desejo — a group that celebrated the new wave of Brazilian music and won a Latin Grammy — reaffirming his talent as a craftsman of sound and emotion.
