Ydegirl (Andrea Novel) stages modern R&B and pop elements within a Nordic-baroque universe, where classical instruments coexist with synthesizers and electronic drum patterns. At the center is her captivating voice, weaving past, present, and futurtogether in sensual, detail-rich arrangements.
In Spring 2026, Ydegirl will release her album Stone Femmes via the Copenhagen-based label Escho (Smerz, Iceage, Fine). The album explores liminal spaces and transitions between states — “from the forest to the city, from fantasy to reality ” — while ultimately remaining rooted in love songs. The title track released at the end of 2025, and she returns February 25th with the second single "Butterfly Knives".
Ydegirl has performed extensively throughout Europe, including Roskilde Festival, Vega, and SPOT Festival, while receiving coverage from outlets such as Dazed, i-D, Vice, The Quietus, Crack Magazine and more. She's played alongside artists like Mark William Lewis and Smerz and for brands like Yohji Yamamoto and Carhartt, and collaborated with photographers like Torbjørn Rodland and Iris Luz. In 2025, she contributed to Clarissa Connelly’s Canons and appeared in A-Magazine alongside Clarissa Connelly and CæciliTrier, curated by Cecilie Bahnsen.
After some years living in Berlin, Ydegirl expanded her international collaborations, including the track “Let’s Make Out” with RIP Swirl (Year0001, 2023). This collaboration culminated in the joint EP Emo Regulation (2025), highlighting their distinct chemistry through tracks such as “Clayboy”and “Spirals on My Tongue.”
