thredd is the collaborative project from musicians Will Lister, Max Winter, and Imogen and The Knife— the first (and only) band to emerge from West London’s notorious Laylow residency. Their debut album It’s Lovely, Come On In arrived in August 2025 via Scenic Route. A UK tour followed, including a sold out headline show at Spanners, London.

The project was born in November 2023, when the trio turned Laylow’s basement into a temporary studio and wrote new music to perform live every Wednesday for four weeks straight. With no time to second-guess, they chased instinct over polish, shaping a sound they call “cold pop”: atmospheric and emotionally direct, with sharp melodies cutting through textured, moody backdrops.

In the years leading up to the residency, the trio shared a studio in South London, honing their individual crafts: Will’s intricate drum programming and production, Max’s intuitive grasp of harmonyand arrangement, and Imogen’s striking lyricism, melody, and voice. The combination is both familiar and boundary-pushing; music that feels immediate but rewards repeat listens
