While on a retreat in the vast Canadian wilderness, pianist and composer Lara Humbert gained new perspectives on her writing process and composed the initial repertoire for her first large ensemble, the octet « I’m Not Done Cooking ». These musicians – meticulously chosen for their virtuosity, their musical personality, and their sense of togetherness – thus form the pianist’s second project as a leader, following her quartet. The ensemble’s debut album « Tome 1: Beauty and the Queen » was released on 27th March 2026 on the Belgian label Mokuhi Sonorities and serves as a breathtaking introduction to the multidimensional world of « I’m Not Done Cooking ».
