Florentino is a Mancunian-Colombian artist, producer & DJ who has been shaping cross-cultural club sounds for over a decade. Rooted in the UK’s dance music scene, he came up through Manchester’s most legendary club scene. Releasing music on labels like Mixpak (NYC), Naafi (CDMX), & XL Recordings (UK), while collaborating with & remixing artists like PinkPantheress, Bad Gyal, Shygirl, Isabella Lovestory, MC Bin Laden, Vv Pete, Chucky73 & The Martinez Brothers etc.
He has toured the globe relentlessly, playing festivals such as Unsound, Dekmantel & Primavera Sound, delivering standout sets while sharing the stage with DJ Lag, Blawan and Skrillex at Draaimolen, and with A-trak & Iglooghost at New Yorks MoMA PS1.
Its not all been about festival spaces for Florentino how-ever, as he cites an early performance in Puerto Rico’s legendary neighborhood of La Perla, warehouse parties in Santiago & CDMX + countless nights at the White Hotel in Manchester as his most formative experiences DJing. It’s clear he can hold his own in a multitude of dance music contexts, wether it be a club space or a festival, having played with the likes of DJ Playero, Ben UFO, DJ Marfox & Joy O.
Florentino’s vision is clear: he distills a singular brand of club music that moves across continents with ease, its foundation rooted in the heavy science of UK bass.
Around that core, he weaves the polyrhythms of the global south (i.e dembow, reggaeton, baile funk and cumbia) into a kinetic whole that feels both cutting-edge, sensual & timeless. The result is an undeniable, border-crossing energy that makes it nearly impossible to stay still.
Florentino continues to expand this vision through Club Romantico, a label & party series that has traveled worldwide, hosting parties in New York, Barcelona, Berlin, London & of course his home city, Manchester. Its catalog includes releases from Safety Trance, Nick León, Manuka Honey, DJ Python & Kelman Duran while also spotlighting rising talents like v1fro & Styn. 2026 will see the label push into album territory, releasing LPs from the more established names on the label, while pushing EPs from up & coming faces in the space. Now hinting at a return to one of, if not the biggest label in UK dance music, its fair to say Florentino is staying busy curating, creating & leading on the fringes of cross cultural dance music.
